About Community Integrated Care
Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.

Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role
Who will you be supporting?

  • I am a 46-year-old lady with a learning disability just moved into my own home. I have my own separate accommodation within the house and have the option to share the communal area with others who live there.

  • Staff need to have training in medication and be familiar with the PBS approach to supporting behaviour that may challenge, you need to be good at giving lots of emotional support

What is important to me?
I really want to be more independent but will need lots of time and patience to build relationships

I love Harry Potter and drawing and colouring. I also have a lot of teddies and dolls that I’m very fond of and I love Disney films. I used to be a lot more active and enjoyed walking and horse riding

I need a lot of stimulation.

  • not giving too many demands,
  • giving time to process information before expecting a response,
  • recognising environments that are too noisy or crowded,
  • offering activities that stimulate my senses in a planned way so as not to overwhelm

Other Important Information?

  • I will have my own staff team during the day, for example 10pm-8am waking nights, day shifts 8am-3pm, 3pm-10pm, 10am-4pm
