Job description
Our client is a specialist software consultancy delivering bespoke digital solutions for National Security, Defence and Government organisations. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join an Agile delivery team working directly with customers to solve real operational challenges, and you will be involved across the full software lifecycle.
Security Clearance
- High-level security clearance preferred (eDV)
- Candidates already working in National Security are particularly welcome
Locations
- Bristol, Cheltenham or Manchester
- On-site 4 to 5 days per week due to the nature of the work
Salary
- £65,000- £75,000 (depending on experience)
The Role
- Design, develop and test robust, scalable software
- Build secure, resilient systems using modern engineering practices
- Develop cloud-native applications and services across AWS and Azure
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab
- Support deployments across public and private cloud environments
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
- Work closely with customers, product owners and technical teams
- Take part in the full lifecycle, from requirements and architecture to deployment and long-term support
- Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Influence technical strategy and project direction
- Lead engineering teams and manage customer engagement, depending on experience
Experience
- Hands-on Back End or Full Stack experience at senior level
- Commercial experience across a range of Java, Python, AWS, Azure, JavaScript, React or TypeScript
- Consultancy experience is useful but not essential
