Technical Design Manager

Intervl are exclusively partnered with a well-funded, fast-growing EV infrastructure business entering an exciting phase of expansion across the UK and Europe.

They're looking for a Technical Design Manager to take ownership of the technical development of high-powered EV charging sites, from feasibility and design through to construction.

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, entrepreneurial business where you'll have genuine autonomy, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in scaling its infrastructure network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence, site feasibility assessments and surveys across multiple projects.
• Identify technical constraints, development risks and abnormal costs before construction.
• Manage external civil, structural and electrical engineering consultants, overseeing design development and approvals.
• Coordinate grid connections with DNOs/IDNOs, including HV design approvals and associated agreements.
• Oversee technical programmes, resolving challenges to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Work closely with development and construction teams to ensure sites are ready for delivery.

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in technical design, engineering or infrastructure development.
• Background in EV charging, utilities, energy infrastructure, forecourts or similar multi-site developments.
• Strong understanding of civil and electrical engineering design, technical due diligence and site feasibility.
• Experience managing external consultants, technical approvals and regulatory consents.
• Knowledge of grid connections, DNOs/IDNOs and HV infrastructure would be advantageous.
• Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Office Location: London (must be willing to be in the office 3-4 days a week)
