Operational Tax Specialist

I'm working with a leading financial services organisation to hire an experienced Operational Tax professional on an initial 12 month day-rate contract with likely extension.

This is a broad tax operations role, with a particular focus on FATCA, CRS, Qualified Intermediary (QI) reporting, W-8 documentation, withholding tax and UK client tax reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate delivery of tax reporting and compliance obligations while supporting ongoing process improvements across the function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage FATCA and CRS reporting requirements.
• Support QI obligations, including W-8 documentation and related reporting.
• Prepare and review UK client tax reporting.
• Oversee withholding tax processes and reclaims.
• Investigate and resolve tax reporting queries and exceptions.
• Perform reconciliations, data analysis and quality assurance checks.
• Liaise with stakeholders across Operations, Compliance and Client Services.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

Key Requirements

• Strong knowledge of FATCA, CRS, QI and withholding tax regimes.
• Experience of UK client tax reporting.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
