Interim Head of Tax

An investor-backed developer of large-scale digital infrastructure is looking for an Interim Head of Tax to lead its tax function for twelve months, covering a period of maternity leave.The business is growing fast across the UK and Europe, with a steady pipeline of new developments, investments and financings, so this is a live and varied brief rather than a holding role.

You will be a key member of a lean management team and the senior tax voice in the business.The tax model is largely outsourced, so the role is about judgement, planning and leading advisers well, while staying hands-on enough to keep every filing and deadline on track.

The Role

• Lead the group's tax function on an interim basis for twelve months
• Oversee tax structuring, compliance, reporting and advisory across the UK and four European jurisdictions
• Manage the tax aspects of property and real estate transactions, from planning through to execution
• Coordinate and oversee external tax advisers in several countries
• Make sure every transaction-related, tax and statutory filing is accurate and on time
• Advise senior management on the tax side of new investments, developments, financing and expansion
• Monitor tax risk and keep governance and controls strong across the group
• Drive tax reporting to UK and European requirements

The person we need

• Significant UK corporate tax experience across corporation tax, transfer pricing, VAT, CIS and employment taxes
• Strong real estate or property tax experience gained within a large property group
• Broader European tax knowledge, ideally including Luxembourg
• A proven record of managing external advisers across multiple jurisdictions
• Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently at pace
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills

This is a twelve-month interim role starting early in the new year, based in London with hybrid working.
