Fire Alarm Engineer

on behalf of our client, covering Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands. We are looking for a capable engineer who can work independently, diagnose faults confidently and deliver a professional service to customers. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain and test conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.

Diagnose faults and complete repairs and remedial works.

Carry out installations, system upgrades and commissioning within your competence.

Ensure work meets applicable BS 5839 requirements and company procedures.

Complete accurate service reports, maintenance records and relevant certification.

Advise customers on system condition and recommended improvements.

Maintain safe working practices and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.

Skills and Experience Proven experience working independently as a Fire Alarm Engineer.

Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.

Confident fault-finding, servicing and maintenance skills.

Installation and commissioning experience.

Understanding of relevant British Standards and health and safety requirements.

Full UK driving licence.

Good organisational skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.

FIA training or relevant electrical qualifications would be advantageous.

Emergency lighting experience would be beneficial.

What's on Offer £40,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
