SPEN Senior Authorised Person – Long Term Contract – MANWEB Network – 11kV / 33kV – Monday to Friday
I’m working with an established utilities contractor looking to appoint an experienced SPEN SAP to support ongoing electrical distribution works across the SP Manweb network, covering North Wales, Cheshire, Merseyside and surrounding areas.
The position will involve working across a range of 11kV and 33kV distribution projects, supporting planned works, network maintenance, asset replacement and new connections.
The role will involve:
- Acting as a Senior Authorised Person on the SP Manweb network, carrying out switching, isolations, earthing and restoration activities.
- Preparing and implementing switching schedules in accordance with SPEN safety rules and procedures.
- Issuing, receiving and cancelling safety documentation, including Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test.
- Supporting 11kV and 33kV cable, substation, overhead line and asset replacement works.
- Liaising with Network Control, Project Managers and site teams to coordinate planned outages and switching activities.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with SPEN electrical safety rules and safe systems of work.
- Supporting commissioning, energisation and network restoration activities where required.
- Maintaining accurate switching records and safety documentation throughout the works.
Experience required:
- Current or previous SPEN SAP authorisation on the Manweb network, ideally up to 33kV.
- Strong experience operating on 11kV and/or 33kV electrical distribution networks.
- Good understanding of switching procedures, safety documentation and DNO safety rules.
- Experience supporting distribution projects, including cable works, substations, overhead lines or asset replacement.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with Network Control and site teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
- 12 month rolling contract
- Monday to Friday
- Competitive day rate, dependent on authorisations and experience
