Job description

Stores & Delivery Assistant

Swadlincote, Derbyshire £14.00p/h Temp to Perm We're recruiting for a

Stores & Delivery Assistant

to join a well-established local business. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys keeping busy, likes a bit of independence and is happy to turn their hand to different tasks throughout the day. We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of warehouse experience. What's more important is finding someone reliable, practical and organised, who can use their own initiative and get on with the job without needing constant direction. What you'll be doing

Your day will usually start with a morning team meeting to go through priorities and plan what's needed. From there, your duties will include: Checking stock levels, carrying out stock takes and keeping stock organised.

Picking, packing and wrapping products ready for dispatch.

Booking deliveries with carriers and preparing orders for collection.

Delivering parts to customers in and around the local area.

Helping with general warehouse and shop floor duties.

Loading and unloading products and equipment safely.

Keeping the stores and warehouse areas clean, tidy and organised.

Supporting the wider team and getting involved wherever an extra pair of hands is needed.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a good work ethic, plenty of common sense and a willingness to get stuck in. You'll be the sort of person who spots something that needs doing and gets on with it, rather than waiting to be asked. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience in stores, warehousing, deliveries or a similar practical role.

FLT Licence

A full UK driving licence.

Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

A friendly, professional manner when dealing with customers.

Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.

A flexible attitude and willingness to help across different areas of the business.

A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.

Experience with stock control, order picking or dispatch would be useful, but having the right attitude is just as important. Why consider this role?

If you enjoy a bit of variety and prefer a role where you can keep yourself busy, this could be a great opportunity. You'll be joining a local business where you'll have the chance to get involved in different aspects of the day-to-day operation, from organising stock and preparing customer orders to heading out on local deliveries. It's an ideal position for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a good job and doesn't want to spend every day doing exactly the same thing. Interested?
