About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, high-rigor Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 where applicable) that cultivate procedural fluency, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving resilience.

  • Prepare students thoroughly for national GCSE and A-Level examinations using data-driven tracking, targeted intervention workshops, and structured exam technique coaching.

  • Incorporate functional numeracy, statistical modeling, and financial literacy into daily instruction to contextualize mathematical principles.

  • Assess, track, and evaluate student progress, offering tailored support to stretch high attainers while building confidence in developing mathematicians.

  • Lead or contribute to departmental enrichment, including UKMT Mathematical Challenges, elite problem-solving clubs, STEM collaborations, and university application masterclasses.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.

  • A strong academic degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

  • Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Mathematics teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5/A-Level experience is highly desirable).

  • Thorough knowledge of national Mathematics specifications and examination board requirements (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR).

  • Exceptional classroom presence, strong questioning techniques, and an infectious enthusiasm for mathematical inquiry and logical problem-solving.

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay Scale: Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS national pay scale, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for key stage coordination or whole-school numeracy leadership.

  • Comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), structured mentoring programmes, and clear pathways for rapid career advancement in an Outstanding school environment.
