Plant Cleaner

HOURS: 22:00 – 06:00

DAYS: Monday - Friday

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a reliable and thorough Factory Cleaner to join our team. Reporting to the Night Hygiene Supervisor, you will help maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment, supporting the food safety standards that are essential to our business. You will be responsible for cleaning the factory (fabrication and machinery) following Standard Operating Procedures and cleaning schedules.

Key Accountabilities:

• Cleaning and sanitising machinery, production areas, floors, surfaces and designated equipment in line with cleaning schedules.
• Dismantle and re-assemble machinery to allow thorough clean.
• Using cleaning equipment such as the foaming machine, pressure washer and hose pipes.
• Following cleaning procedures to prevent contamination and maintain food hygiene standards.
• Using and storing cleaning chemicals safely, following training and instructions.
• Removing waste and keeping designated areas clean and tidy.
• Complete relevant paperwork accurately and on time, and reporting hazards, damage or maintenance concerns.
• Assist the team in developing and continually improving written procedures and hygiene standards.
• Following site health and safety rules and wearing the required personal protective equipment.
• Working in both a safe and hygienic manner.

Requirements:

• Is dependable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
• Must be flexible and be willing to work overtime when required.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive and have the ability to use own initiative.
• Take pride in work and have good attention to detail understanding the importance of hygienic and safe working practices.
• Manual handling and lifting weights of up to 20kgs throughout the shifts.
• Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail.
• Must be able to work to tight deadlines.
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience of cleaning machinery within the food industry required.
• Training in chemical handling would be an advantage however full training will be given.
