About Us

Bedfordshire Open Door is a trusted local charity providing free, confidential counselling and support to young people aged 13–25 across Bedfordshire. We are committed to empowering young people to navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental health.

We are seeking a Community Fundraiser to play a key role in helping us grow income, expand supporter engagement, and strengthen our presence across Bedford and the surrounding areas.

Role Purpose

We’re looking for a Community Fundraiser to help us grow our income, build relationships with supporters, and raise our profile across Bedford and the surrounding areas. This is a dynamic, outward-facing role ideal for someone who is locally connected, socially confident, and wants to make a difference.

You will support fundraising activity across three key areas:

• Community fundraising – building regular giving, running appeals, and engaging schools, community groups and parish councillors.
• Corporate fundraising – developing partnerships with local businesses and nurturing existing supporters.
• Grant support – assisting the CEO with funding applications when needed.

You will also help create engaging content for social media and digital campaigns to support fundraising efforts.

Location Requirements

This is a Bedford-based role. We’re looking for someone who lives in or near Bedford, knows the area well, and ideally brings existing local connections that can support fundraising.
