JWR is recruiting for an experienced and proactive People Manager to join a prestigious luxury hotel in the heart of Bath.

The Role
As People Manager, you will:

\n

\n
• Lead the day-to-day HR and people function across the hotel.
\n
• Work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to develop a positive, high-performing culture.
\n
• Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management.
\n
• Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding and employee retention initiatives.
\n
• Provide professional HR advice, guidance and coaching to departmental managers.
\n
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and HR procedures.
\n
• Coordinate payroll information, employee records and HR administration.
\n
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing and internal communication initiatives.
\n
• Identify training and development opportunities, supporting career progression and succession planning.
\n
• Support workforce planning, organisational change and continuous improvement.
\n

Requirements
We are looking for an approachable, organised and commercially minded HR professional who can build strong relationships at all levels. You will ideally have:

\n
• Previous experience in a People Manager, HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
\n
• A background within hotels, hospitality or a similarly people-focused operational environment.
\n
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practices.
\n
• Experience managing employee relations and supporting recruitment and retention.
\n
• Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
\n
• The confidence to work independently while supporting a busy senior management team.
\n
• A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent organisational skills.
\n
• CIPD qualifications or equivalent practical HR experience would be advantageous.
\n
