Connect Appointments is recruiting an Assistant Finance Manager to join an established business based in Livingston.

\n

This is a hands-on role with real ownership: accounts payable, month-end, VAT returns, reconciliations and management accounts. You'll run the finance function independently when the Finance Manager is away, so it suits someone who's taken a full set of accounts from start to finish rather than worked purely transactionally.

As an Assistant Finance Manager, your duties will include:

\n

\n
• Managing accounts payable, supplier payments, expenses and reconciliations
\n
• Completing month-end procedures including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, KPI and cash flow reports
\n
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting reconciliations
\n
• Performing bank reconciliations and supporting budgeting, forecasting and year-end audits
\n
• Covering the finance function during the Finance Manager's absence
\n

\n

To be considered as an Assistant Finance Manager, you will need:

\n

\n
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role
\n
• Hands-on experience preparing a full set of accounts independently is essential
\n
• Practical experience of month-end procedures and VAT returns
\n
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
\n
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA or CIMA is desirable
\n
• Experience with Microsoft Navision or Business Central is an advantage
\n
