A popular academy in Crawley is seeking an experienced HR Officer to support its people management and recruitment processes. This opportunity would suit a confident HR professional who understands the importance of compliance, accurate records and professional communication within a school environment.
About the Role
Provide day-to-day HR administration and support to school leaders and staff.
Coordinate recruitment processes, interviews and pre-employment checks.
Maintain staff records and ensure personnel files are accurate and up to date.
Assist with contracts, absence records, onboarding and staff changes.
Support safer recruitment procedures and monitor compliance documentation.
Respond to routine HR queries and direct complex matters appropriately.
Help ensure HR processes follow relevant policies and safeguarding requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous HR administration or HR Officer experience is essential.
School-based HR experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of safer recruitment, DBS checks and school HR compliance would be advantageous.
Experience working with a Local Authority or multi-academy trust would be beneficial.
Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
Able to manage confidential information with discretion.
An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
