Are you a people person who loves solving problems, building relationships and making sure customers receive an excellent service?
We're looking for a proactive, organised and customer-focused Customer Service & Client Support Consultant to join a growing team in Milton Keynes.
This is a varied role offering much more than traditional customer service. You'll support customers throughout their journey, from getting them set up and providing product training to managing ongoing enquiries, resolving issues and helping them get the most from the service.
If you're naturally curious, technically minded and enjoy taking ownership rather than simply passing problems on to someone else, this could be a brilliant opportunity to develop your career in a professional client services environment.
What will you be doing?
You'll play a key role in delivering a smooth, positive customer experience, building strong relationships and ensuring everything runs as it should.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Customer Support: Handling incoming calls, enquiries and reported issues, investigating problems and seeing them through to resolution.
- Customer Onboarding: Coordinating the setup of new customers, understanding their requirements and ensuring everything is in place for a smooth start.
- Building Relationships: Developing strong relationships with customers through friendly, professional communication and proactive follow-up.
- Product Training: Demonstrating products, providing guidance and helping customers understand how to make the most of the available features.
- Problem Solving: Investigating technical and service-related issues, working with internal teams and external suppliers to find solutions.
- Account Administration: Managing account changes, system updates, service requests, customer records and agreements accurately.
- Customer Reporting: Preparing bespoke reports and supporting customers with their ongoing service requirements.
- Improving the Customer Experience: Identifying recurring issues, gathering feedback and suggesting ways to improve processes and service delivery.
- Adding Value: Understanding customer needs, spotting opportunities to improve the service they receive and referring potential commercial opportunities to the relevant team.
What are we looking for?
You'll ideally have experience in customer service, customer support, client services, account support or a similar customer-facing role.
Just as importantly, you'll bring the right attitude, a willingness to learn and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
We're looking for someone with:
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, friendly telephone manner.
- The ability to build rapport and develop positive customer relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, analytical approach.
- Good technical aptitude and the confidence to learn new systems and products.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise your workload and manage several requests at once.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- A proactive approach, with the initiative to investigate issues and find solutions independently.
- A genuine interest in understanding customer needs and helping them achieve the best possible results.
- An understanding of marketing applications and how businesses use them would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
What sort of person will thrive in this role?
You'll be friendly, approachable and naturally helpful, with a positive, can-do attitude. You're someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, keeps their promises and follows things through without needing to be chased.
You'll also be someone who:
- Stays calm and thinks clearly when things don't go to plan.
- Enjoys learning new things and isn't afraid to ask questions.
- Uses their initiative and looks at the bigger picture.
- Takes the time to understand a problem rather than simply applying a quick fix.
- Works well as part of a team and enjoys helping colleagues.
- Cares about delivering an excellent customer experience.
