Bulk Transport Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Metcalfe Farms as a Bulk Transport Planner based at the companys head office in Leyburn North Yorkshire. You will be responsible for optimising the logistics and transportation of goods ensuring compliance with regulations and enhancing overall operational efficiency. You will work closely with drivers and other departments to deliver outstanding service. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Responsibilities:Route Planning: Develop and optimise transportation routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimising costs and fuel Compliance: Ensure all transport operations comply with UK and EU regulations and safety Management: Monitor and analyse transport costs identifying areas for efficiency improvements and cost Utilisation: Use transport management software and telematics systems for real-time tracking and route : Liaise with drivers and internal teams to coordinate Analysis: Analyse transport data to identify trends optimise operations and prepare reports for Collaboration: Work with the Bulk staff and other departments to ensure seamless : Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in full (OTIF)This list of duties is not intended to be exhaustive but gives a general indication of the tasks involved.
