Sea Freight Export Coordinator Basildon, Essex or Manchester | £31500 DOE | Permanent, Full-Time Perform Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client, an established international freight forwarding and logistics business with a strong UK presence, for a Sea Freight Export Coordinator to join their ocean operations team. The Role You'll support the sea freight operations team in handling export and cross-trade shipments from start to finish, making sure everything is accurate, compliant and delivered on time. What You'll Be Doing Managing export and cross-trade shipments, including the financial, legal and invoicing side Preparing and submitting customs export declarations accurately, and flagging any amendments to your manager straight away Keeping the operating system up to date at all times Raising invoices for completed exports within 48 hours Recording quotations on the system in a consistent format and passing them to the sales team Spotting and reporting new sales leads and handing over shipments Working with credit control to follow up on late payments Checking insurance charges are applied correctly and passing any claims on promptly Helping keep department procedures (SOPs) current and finding ways to improve workflow Building good relationships with customers and colleagues across departments Covering for team members during holidays and sickness What You'll Need At least 2 years' experience in sea freight exports Sea imports or air exports experience is a bonus Solid understanding of logistics processes and procedures Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel reporting Clear, professional communication by phone and email Strong attention to detail and analytical skills An administrative background and the ability to manage your own workload, both independently and as part of a team Working Hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch), 40 hours per week What's On Offer 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising by 1 day per year of service (up to 5 extra days) An extra paid day off to mark a personal milestone of your choice Enhanced pension, with employer contribution rising to 9% after 1 year Free annual pension and investment review with an independent financial adviser Death in Service cover at 3x salary after 6 months Private medical insurance after 1 year (subject to eligibility) Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family Employee discounts and benefits platform Interested?
