Senior Dental Officer (Student Outreach) - Public Dental Service NHS Lanarkshire
Location: Buchanan Centre, Coatbridge
Salary: Senior Dental Officer Band B - £80,942-£94,506 whole time
Hours of work: 15 hours per week available fixed term Jan-Apr 2027, Aug-Dec 2027.

An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Senior Dental Officer based in the Dental Outreach Centre at Buchanan Centre in Coatbridge 15 hours per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays only). This is a fixed term appointment starting in January 2027.

We are looking for an experienced dentist to join our team providing high-quality undergraduate dental education by teaching and supervising BDS5 students from University of Glasgow and BSc Oral Health Science students from Glasgow Caledonian University in clinical dental practice. The successful candidate will work closely with both the management team within the Public Dental Service in Lanarkshire and academic colleagues through both universities to ensure effective delivery of this essential and valuable part of the undergraduate curriculum.

Requirements

• Experience in delivering dental education
• Excellent communication and patient management skills developed by providing primary dental care
• Full Registration with the General Dental Council
• A relevant postgraduate qualification
• At least five years' experience in providing clinical dentistry
