Forward Deployed Engineer - Capital Markets - Java, Security, AI

Luxoft is partnering with a leading global investment bank to improve the security, stability, resilience, and release reliability of mission‑critical applications that support large‑scale trading, risk, and banking operations. We're seeking experienced Forward Deployed Engineers who thrive in complex environments and enjoy rolling up their sleeves to solve difficult engineering challenges. This is a highly technical role that combines software engineering, DevOps, SRE, application security, test automation, and platform modernization. Unlike traditional consulting or architecture positions, approximately 70% of your time will be spent hands‑on coding, troubleshooting, automating, and implementing solutions directly within production engineering environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll embed with development teams to tackle their most pressing technical challenges, including:

• Security vulnerability remediation and dependency management
• Legacy application modernization
• Test strategy transformation and TDD adoption
• Release automation and CI/CD optimization
• Production stability and operational resilience
• Java, Spring, JVM and runtime upgrades
• Containerization and OpenShift adoption
• Observability, monitoring and engineering excellence initiatives

You’ll lead engagements from assessment through implementation, deployment, stabilization, and handover, leaving teams with stronger systems and sustainable engineering practices.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in engineers who love engineering.

You’ll bring:

Deep knowledge of Spring and enterprise application modernization

Experience implementing Test‑Driven Development and automated testing frameworks

Expertise in CI/CD, release automation and software delivery practices

Strong understanding of secure coding, vulnerability remediation and dependency risk management

Production troubleshooting and debugging experience in complex distributed environments

Experience with Docker, OpenShift and Linux‑based platforms

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical stakeholders

Bonus Points For

• WebSphere or WebLogic modernization experience
• Renovate, Dependabot or automated dependency management tooling
• Liquibase or Flyway
• Ansible
• Splunk, Grafana, ELK, Prometheus, Dynatrace or OpenTelemetry
• High‑availability and multi‑region architecture experience
• Disaster recovery and resilience engineering expertise
