Akkodis is recruiting an experienced Algorithm Engineer to develop mathematical and signal-processing software for complex defence programmes.
Akkodis is a global engineering, technology and R&D consultancy, part of the Adecco Group. We bring together engineering expertise and digital capabilities to help our clients develop innovative solutions, supporting projects from initial concept through to delivery.
Scope
- Develop and integrate complex mathematical and signal-processing models into high-quality software solutions.
- Support model-driven engineering through a combination of autogenerated and handwritten code.
- Deliver efficient, reliable software for Linux-based target environments.
Role
You will translate theoretical models into maintainable C++ software, working closely with software engineers and architects to support programme delivery. You will apply clean coding practices, unit testing and static analysis throughout development.
Responsibilities
- Implement mathematical and signal-processing models accurately in C++.
- Integrate autogenerated and handwritten code within a model-driven development environment.
- Develop, deploy and debug software on Linux targets.
- Contribute to distributed-system software design and follow defined development processes.
- Use Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, JIRA and Jenkins to support development and configuration management.
- Support automated build pipelines using Jenkins or Git runners.
- Communicate technical progress, risks and issues clearly.
Required Experience
- At least eight years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong experience in computational mathematics and signal processing.
- Proven ability to translate theoretical models into working software.
- Experience with UML, model-driven development and Linux target environments.
- Experience with distributed systems and configuration management.
- Defence-sector experience is desirable.
Required Skills
- Expert‑level C++ programming.
- Strong mathematical, signal-processing and model implementation capabilities.
- UML and model‑driven development expertise.
- Linux development and shell, Bash or Python scripting.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes or Podman.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, GPU programming languages and high‑integrity coding practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork and technical delivery leadership.
- MATLAB/Simulink, virtualisation, and DOORS or Polarion experience would be advantageous.
Required Education
No specific formal qualification is stipulated; relevant technical expertise and experience are the key requirements.
