Your new company

This leading national law firm has an excellent reputation for its work across the housing and public sectors and acts for a broad range of registered providers, housing associations, local authorities and other organisations.

The firm has a substantial and growing housing practice and is now looking to recruit a Housing Litigation Solicitor or Associate into its specialist Housing Management team. This role is largely home working with occasional travel to one of the hub offices. However, those who wish to be more office-based will be accommodated.

Your new role

You will join an established team advising social landlords and other organisations on a broad range of contentious housing and housing management matters.

Your caseload will include:

  • Housing disrepair claims
  • Possession proceedings
  • Injunction claims
  • Breach of tenancy matters
  • Access injunctions, including gas and electrical safety cases
  • Cases involving the Equality Act 2010 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Failed succession matters
  • Leasehold management issues
  • Service charge disputes

You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients and manage your own matters, while benefiting from the support of an experienced national housing team.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified solicitor with experience in housing litigation, social housing or landlord and tenant disputes.

Previous experience acting for social landlords or housing associations would be particularly advantageous, although applications are welcomed from lawyers with relevant transferable housing litigation experience.

You should have:

  • Experience handling contentious housing matters
  • Strong litigation, drafting and legal analysis skills
  • The ability to confidently manage your own caseload
  • Good client-facing and communication skills
  • A practical and commercial approach to resolving disputes
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • An interest in developing your career within the social housing sector

What you'll get in return

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded and growing national housing practice, with exposure to a varied caseload and an impressive client base.

The firm offers a largely home-based and highly flexible working arrangement, alongside strong opportunities for progression and professional development.

Benefits include:

  • Minimum 25 days' annual leave, with the option to purchase additional days
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance
  • Private health assessments
  • Life assurance
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme
