Senior Clinical Fellow in Post-Reproductive Health/Menopause care
Job overview
The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of their time working within the menopause service and 50% supporting the general obstetrics and gynaecology rota, including participation in the out-of-hours registrar rota.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in menopause and post-reproductive healthcare under the supervision of experienced menopause consultants. There is scope to work towards recognised qualifications including the British Menopause Society Principles and Practice of Menopause Care (PPMC) certificate or the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Menopause Care Professional Certificate.
The post holder will have the opportunity to develop independent menopause clinics, gain experience in outpatient hysteroscopy where feasible, and become actively involved in service development, quality improvement and research projects within the menopause service.
Applications are welcomed from both trainees and non-trainees. For candidates in recognised training programmes, support may be available for obtaining approval for time to contribute towards CCT requirements.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to develop expertise in the assessment and management of women experiencing menopause and post-reproductive health concerns, whilst maintaining and enhancing their broader obstetrics and gynaecology skills. The role offers increasing clinical responsibility, with the opportunity to run consultant-supervised menopause clinics independently following an initial period of training and support.
The post holder will participate fully in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, contributing to outpatient clinics, ward-based care, theatre activity, labour ward duties and the registrar on-call rota. They will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, provide high-quality patient-centred care, and work effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audit and research activities within the department.
Please note that this vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received.
