Senior Quantity Surveyor – Highways

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major highways project in the Norwich area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS with a background in highways, infrastructure or heavy civil engineering to join an established project team on a long-term contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of highways and civil engineering packages
• Subcontractor procurement, management and payment
• Preparation of valuations, applications and cost reports
• Managing variations, compensation events and change control
• Cost forecasting and CVR reporting
• Supporting contractual and commercial negotiations
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
• Working closely with project managers, engineers and the wider delivery team
• Ensuring accurate commercial records are maintained throughout the project

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Strong background in highways, infrastructure or heavy civils
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC3 or NEC4
• Experience managing subcontract packages from procurement through to final account
• Strong commercial, contractual and cost-management skills
• Ability to work effectively within a major project environment
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred
