Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Consultant Child and Adolescent and/or Forensic Psychiatrist West Region Tier 4 Community Forensic CAMHS (FCAMHS) and Secure Care Regional Hub 0.4 WTE (4 Programmed Activities) NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, on behalf of the West of Scotland region, is recruiting to a new Consultant Child and Adolescent and/or Forensic Psychiatrist post within the Tier 4 Community Forensic CAMHS and Secure Care Hub and Spoke Network.

This innovative regional role will provide Consultant-level leadership, specialist consultation, risk formulation expertise, training, supervision and quality improvement support for children and young people with complex high-risk presentations across the West of Scotland.

The post forms part of a multidisciplinary regional FCAMHS and Secure Care Hub and supports implementation of the Scottish Government-funded West Region Tier 4 Community FCAMHS and Secure Care model.

The service is primarily consultation and capacity-building focused rather than a case-holding service and works in close partnership with local CAMHS teams, secure care services, youth justice, social work and wider professional networks.

NHSGGC recognises the importance of work-life balance and is committed to offering a range of flexible working options where service needs allow. For roles where less than full-time hours can be accommodated, and where the tenure is listed as 'various', we encourage applications from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements. Flexible working will be included as a topic for discussion during the recruitment process.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and are proud of the diverse workforce we employ.

By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, NHSGGC has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer. We welcome applications from across the Armed Forces Community and recognise military skills, experience and qualifications throughout the recruitment and selection process.
