Carpenter Improver

AMAT have been ever present in the homeless sector offering supported accommodation to the people in Kent, and are pleased to say we have not and would not furlough any staff during lockdowns due to the nature of the work we do, and the fact that we operate all year round. We are currently looking to recruit a Carpenter Improver to join our amazing team on a six month fixed term contract.

You will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to properties within AMAT's portfolio, as well as carrying out planned carpentry works. Your key tasks will be to:

• Assemble sturdy and well-constructed floorboards, skirting, doors, doorframes, fitted furniture, cabinets, and shelving.
• Install and change a variation of locks.
• Install door furniture, including handles, closers, intumescent stripping to all doors and fire doors.
• Repair and refurbish existing building work.
• Replace damaged wood in hardwood floors and outdoor decking.
• Advise the Senior Manager of Facilities of any work you feel is beyond your abilities, or that requires a qualification or registration that you do not hold.
