Job overview

An unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative Pharmacy Technician with a special interest in digital transformation to join the established Pharmacy Informatics Team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and play a key role in delivering digital projects across the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of a new Pharmacy Stock Control System, working closely with pharmacy staff, digital teams and system suppliers to ensure a successful transition. In addition to this flagship project, you will contribute to a range of upcoming innovative digital initiatives designed to improve patient care, operational efficiency and the use of technology within pharmacy services.

The successful candidate will combine excellent organisational skills with an interest in digital technologies, data and process improvement. You will act as a bridge between pharmacy operations and digital solutions, helping colleagues adopt new systems and ensuring projects are delivered effectively and utilised to their full potential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Pharmacy Digital Projects Lead in delivery of digital transformation initiatives across the Pharmacy Department, with a primary focus on the implementation of the Pharmacy Stock Control System replacement project. Once implemented, the post holder will support the Project Lead and the Pharmacy Systems Manager in producing a comprehensive handover to live service, including addressing the reporting needs of the department, and the Trust as a whole. The post holder will also provide backfill where deemed necessary to cover other core members of the pharmacy team(s) that are required to support project work.

The post holder will also contribute to the successful delivery of future pharmacy digital projects by supporting system configuration, data validation and migration, user acceptance testing, training and post-implementation support. They will help ensure that new technologies are embedded effectively into everyday practice, promoting safe, efficient and high-quality pharmacy services.
