Class Teacher

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southfields is seeking a warm, skilled and ambitious Year 1 Class Teacher to join its team from January 2027. The successful candidate will have high expectations for all pupils and a strong understanding of how young children learn. They will create a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom where children feel valued, supported and motivated to succeed. The Class teacher Role Teach a Year 1 class and deliver engaging, creative and purposeful lessons. Establish strong foundations in early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics. Use assessment effectively to identify needs and adapt teaching accordingly. Support pupils with a range of starting points, including those with SEND and EAL. Promote positive behaviour and strong relationships throughout the classroom. Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community. Maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing. KS1 Phase Leader Opportunity For an experienced candidate, there is an opportunity to take on additional responsibility as KS1 Phase Leader, including: Supporting and coaching colleagues across the phase.
