Machine Shop Manager

Machine Shop Manager Gillingham, Kent Our client, a successful and well established family run business based in Gillingham, is seeking an experienced and adaptable Machine Shop Manager to join their team. This is a varied and hands on role that would suit an individual who enjoys leading from the front and contributing across all areas of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the machine shop while also being willing to operate machinery and support wider operational activities when required. Key Responsibilities: * Managing the day-to-day operations of the machine shop. * Setting up and operating machinery including: * Brake Presses * Laser Cutting Machines * Band Saws * Supporting production processes and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. * Assisting with despatch activities as required. * Organising and overseeing deliveries, including taking charge of delivery operations when necessary. * Leading and motivating a small team while maintaining a positive and productive working environment. Working Hours: * Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm * Flexibility is essential, as occasional cover for the afternoon shift may be required to meet business needs.
