Job Title: Deputy Headteacher + KS2 Teaching responsibilties Location: Castle Cary Salary Grade: L3-L8 Actual Salary: £56,298-£63,688 Closing Date: 6th November 2026 Start Date: January 2027 We are actively seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher for a school based within the Castle Cary area. The school itself works within a Trust that priorities working together in collaborative partnership which are mutually supportive and share great practice. The Deputy Headteacher, under the direction of the headteacher will take on a major role in formulating the aims and objectives of the school/Trust. Establish policies for achieving these aims and objectives and monitor progress within these. If the headteacher is absent, the deputy headteacher will deputise and be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a headteacher. Duties and Responsibilities: Support with the day-to-day management of the school Lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils Keep up to date with developments in education, and have a good knowledge of education systems locally, nationally and globally.
