Shape Reward Strategy That Impacts Thousands of Employees

At Babcock, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Group Reward Lead, you'll play a critical role in shaping how we attract, retain and reward talented people across our global organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Group Reward team, influencing reward strategy and partnering with senior stakeholders across the business. You'll help ensure our reward programmes remain competitive, fair and aligned to our organisational goals, while contributing to initiatives that directly support business performance and employee engagement.

The Role

As a key member of the Group Reward team, you'll provide expert reward insight and leadership across a broad range of compensation activities. Working closely with HR and business leaders, you'll help develop and deliver reward solutions that support our people strategy and reinforce a high-performance culture.

You'll combine strong analytical capability with commercial awareness to drive evidence-based decision making, ensure robust governance and continuously improve our reward practices.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Lead the delivery of annual reward activities, including salary reviews, incentive cycles and associated governance processes.
  • Deliver market benchmarking and reward analysis, providing insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance compensation frameworks, policies and reward governance across the Group.
  • Partner with HR teams and business leaders to provide expert advice on reward matters and complex compensation issues.
  • Support the design and implementation of reward-related projects and change initiatives that improve the employee experience and organisational effectiveness.
  • Use reward data and market intelligence to identify trends, opportunities and potential risks, helping to inform future reward strategy.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and offers hybrid working arrangements with a blend of office and home-based working.

Essential Experience of the Group Reward Lead

  • Significant experience within compensation and reward, ideally gained in a large, complex and matrixed organisation with international exposure.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing and operating reward frameworks, policies and processes that support business objectives.
  • Strong experience leading annual reward cycles, including salary review and incentive programmes.
  • Experience using market benchmarking, salary surveys and reward analytics to inform reward strategy and decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including advanced Excel capability and experience working with HR systems such as SuccessFactors.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with senior leaders.
