HR & Payroll Officer | Belfast Artemis Human Capital is recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced HR & Payroll Officer to join their HR team in a varied, hands-on role combining end-to-end payroll processing with generalist HR support. This opportunity would suit a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with people, takes pride in payroll accuracy and is confident managing a range of HR responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Salary: Dependent on experience Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent The Role HR Responsibilities Coordinate recruitment, interviews, offers, contracts and onboarding. Provide first-line support for employee relations queries, escalating complex matters where appropriate. Support absence management, return-to-work processes and employee lifecycle changes. Contribute to HR projects, policy reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, HMRC requirements and data protection standards. Payroll Responsibilities Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing, including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, expenses and statutory payments. Administer PAYE, National Insurance, pension contributions and other payroll deductions. Ensure accurate holiday pay, statutory payments and taxable benefits processing. Manage workplace pension administration, payroll reconciliations and year-end reporting. Respond to payroll queries and maintain accurate, confidential employee records. About You At least five years experience processing end-to-end payroll, ideally within a multi-entity organisation. Experience using payroll software and administering workplace pensions and auto-enrolment. Sound knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments. Strong numerical, organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines while maintaining confidentiality. Previous experience in HR administration, recruitment coordination or employee relations support would be advantageous. A payroll qualification is desirable, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
