Kitchen Assistants - School Setting

Location: Swindon
Hours: Various shifts available, Monday-Friday
Pay: Competitive hourly rate
Start Date: £12.71 to £14.61 per hour

We are currently recruiting for two Kitchen Assistants to join a busy and friendly school catering team. These roles are ideal for reliable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and helping to provide high-quality meals for pupils and staff.

\n

Available Roles:

\n

Kitchen Assistant (Cleaning & Dining Support)

\n

\n
• Washing up and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen.
\n
• Cleaning down kitchen areas in line with food hygiene standards.
\n
• Setting out and laying tables ready for lunch service.
\n
• Assisting with general kitchen duties as required.
\n

\n

Kitchen Assistant (Food Preparation & Service)

\n

\n
• Supporting the Chef with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
\n
• Assisting with serving meals during lunch service.
\n
• Helping with food presentation and kitchen organisation.
\n
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
\n

\n

What We're Looking For:

\n

\n
• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food service environment is desirable.
\n
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures.
\n
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
\n
• Reliable, punctual, and hard-working approach.
\n
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
\n

Essential Requirements:

• Food Safety qualification.
\n
• Allergens Awareness training.
\n
• Benedict's Law Awareness.
\n
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
\n
• Satisfactory references and all relevant pre-employment recruitment checks.
\n
