Import Customs Clearance specialist

Our clients specialise in providing an end-to-end customs solutions for their clients within Air Road and Sea freight Imports and Exports and are currently looking for an Import Customs Clearance specialist for their Ipswich/Felixstowe office.

Purpose of the role:

To provide end-to-end customs clearance for Import shipments for both European Road freight Import shipments and Container sea freight Import shipments.

Duties will include:

Responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments

Handling Import customs entries for both container and trailer freight Import shipments including some complex customs entries.

Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations trade laws and company procedures is met.

Liaising with customs authorities and clients.

Ensuring timely release of cargo

Liaising with hauliers to arrange some container freight deliveries.

Liaising with customers and maintaining excellent customer service

Providing guidance to junior team members

Requirements

Experience required:

You will need to have experience of working within either a customs brokerage a shipping line or freight forwarders and be able to input customs entries into port systems.

You will be aware of customs regulations and compliance.

You will have good customer service skills

Have good attention to detail.
