Villiers Hotel is a spectacular 18th Century 49-bedroom hotel situated in the heart of the historic market town of Buckingham. Villiers has undergone a major refurbishment to all front of house areas and The Old Town Hall which provides all the meeting, serviced offices and function space.

Are you passionate about food, keen to develop your culinary skills and looking to build a career in the hospitality industry? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our busy kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work and wants to learn from an experienced team of chefs.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting the kitchen team with the preparation and cooking of dishes to the required standards.
• Preparing fresh ingredients and ensuring all food is prepared consistently and presented to a high standard.
• Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety at all times.
• Keeping your work area clean, tidy and organised.
• Ensuring food is stored correctly and stock is rotated in line with food safety procedures.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods, including restaurant service, events and functions.
• Following recipes, portion control guidelines and instructions from senior chefs.
• Taking pride in delivering high-quality food and an excellent guest experience.

• The ability to work well as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
• An understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety, or a willingness to undertake training.
• Previous kitchen experience would be beneficial, but enthusiasm and the right attitude are just as important.
