We are hiring for our client, an established electrical engineering, contracting and consultancy business, to appoint a Renewables Engineer with a background in Electrical Design in Omagh. Delivering turnkey solutions up to 275kV across renewables and mission critical facilities, our client is helping to decarbonise the grid. This Renewables Engineer (Electrical Design) opportunity offers technically challenging projects across the UK and Europe.

The Role
Develop HV electrical designs for renewable energy and hyperscale projects
Produce and review SLDs, schematics, cable schedules and technical drawings
Complete cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit, earthing and protection calculations
Specify and review HV/LV equipment, including transformers and switchgear
Ensure designs meet UK, European and international standards
Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, utility providers and suppliers
Support installation, testing and commissioning, plus tendering activity
The Person
Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in Renewables / Electrical Engineering
1+ years experience in an electrical design engineering role
Good understanding of HV and LV systems
Experience with ETAP, Eplan, AutoCAD, Cymcap and Autodesk
Strong communication, time-management and decision-making skills
Desirable: renewables, utilities or data centre experience; DNO experience; Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
