Job Details

Your new company
I am currently working with a high-growth Construction business that is rapidly expanding. With a strong portfolio of exciting projects and ambitious growth plans, the business is looking for a recently qualified Management Accountant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant who is looking to gain broad exposure within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and play a key role in supporting business performance.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and providing commercial support across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts across all divisions, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.
  • Managing month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, recharges and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting WIP and revenue recognition.
  • Preparing annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts, partnering with department heads to manage costs and performance.
  • Maintaining the cash flow forecast, tracking forecast accuracy and producing scenario analysis.
  • Producing monthly cost and department reports, providing clear financial insight to budget holders and operational teams.
  • Supporting construction-specific accounting requirements, including CIS, VAT and retentions.
  • Assisting with year-end audit requirements, preparing audit schedules and supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.

What you will need to succeed

You'll be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA) with experience in construction, either within the construction industry or with clients in practice. Ideally, you'll have confidence with Xero and exposure to WIP and CIS. You will have a commercial mindset with strong technical understanding and confidence to challenge the status quo.

What you'll get in return
You'll receive a competitive salary of £55,000-60,000 + bonus + competitive benefits. It's an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to step into a hands-on role with real ownership and exposure to senior stakeholders.
