Community Transport Driver (PHV)
Part-Time, Term Time Only
16-20 Hours per Week | £13.21 per Hour
We are seeking a reliable and caring Driver to provide safe transport for vulnerable children, young people, and adults, enabling them to access education, services, and community activities.
Key responsibilities include safely transporting passengers, daily vehicle safety checks, assisting passengers including wheelchair users, operating accessibility equipment, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and delivering excellent customer service. Drivers will work with Passenger Assistants and communicate professionally with passengers, families, and clients.
Applicants must be aged 21 or over, hold a full Category B driving licence, have at least three years' driving experience, and no more than three penalty points. You must be a confident, competent driver with the willingness and ability to operate a 8-seater minibus safely. Hold or willing to obtain a Southend Private Hire/Hackney Carriage Licence if required. Successful candidates must complete medical, driving, and enhanced DBS checks. Strong communication skills and a patient, professional approach are essential.
