About the School
A busy and well-regarded school in Oxford is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support its finance and HR functions. The successful candidate will help ensure staff are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining reliable records and handling confidential employee information professionally.
About the Role
You will oversee payroll administration and work alongside the school's HR and finance teams to ensure payroll information is processed accurately and deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing monthly payroll information and checking employee records.
Maintaining accurate details of salaries, deductions, allowances and contractual changes.
Recording staff absences, overtime and other relevant payroll adjustments.
Responding to routine payroll queries from staff.
Reconciling payroll information and investigating discrepancies.
Supporting pension administration, statutory documentation and payroll reporting.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous payroll administration experience.
Experience with school payroll or education-sector employment arrangements is advantageous.
Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
Familiarity with payroll software, spreadsheets and confidential records.
The ability to work to strict deadlines and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
