Location: Manchester
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-2:00pm
Pay Rate: £18 per hour
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting an experienced and reliable School Cook to work within a school in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for pupils, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and ensuring that meals are prepared safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking meals in line with the school menu.

  • Ensuring food is prepared, cooked and stored safely.

  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

  • Monitoring food stock and assisting with stock rotation.

  • Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and organised.

  • Following all relevant food safety and health and safety procedures.

  • Supporting the smooth running of the school meal service.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous professional cooking or catering experience is essential.

  • An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service is essential.

  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a catering team.

  • A reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.

  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-2:00pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
