Import Customs Clearance specialist

Job Description

Our clients specialise in providing an end-to-end customs solutions for their clients within Air, Road and Sea freight Imports and Exports and are currently looking for an Import Customs Clearance specialist for their Ipswich/Felixstowe office.

Purpose of the role:

To provide end-to-end customs clearance for Import shipments for both European Road freight Import shipments and Container sea freight Import shipments.

Duties will include:

· Responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments

· Handling Import customs entries for both container and trailer freight Import shipments including some complex customs entries.

· Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and company procedures is met.

· Liaising with customs authorities and clients.

· Ensuring timely release of cargo

· Liaising with hauliers to arrange some container freight deliveries.

· Liaising with customers and maintaining excellent customer service

· Providing guidance to junior team members

Requirements

Experience required:

· You will need to have experience of working within either a customs brokerage, a shipping line or freight forwarders and be able to input customs entries into port systems.

· You will be aware of customs regulations and compliance.

· You will have good customer service skills

· Have good attention to detail.
