You will lead and support civil engineering design from
initial surveys and feasibility through technical design, construction, and
completion, focusing on drainage, utilities, external works, and existing
building infrastructure. Working closely with architects, consultants,
contractors, and internal development and construction teams, you will deliver
practical, cost-effective solutions that meet programme, budget, and quality
requirements.

drainage CCTV surveys, condition assessments, and remedial works. - Design
and coordinate external works, roads, paving, levels, and utilities
infrastructure. - Coordinate
water, sewer, and drainage connections with statutory authorities and
utility providers. - Produce
and review civil engineering drawings, technical reports, specifications,
and contractor proposals. - Support
site investigations, construction activities, and technical
problem-solving throughout project delivery. - Ensure
compliance with UK Building Regulations, relevant British Standards, and
applicable drainage requirements. - Coordinate
civil engineering design with architectural, structural, MEP, and
construction teams. - Identify
infrastructure risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-effective
solutions, particularly on refurbishment and conversion projects.
About You
We are looking for a technically capable, commercially aware
Civil Engineer with strong UK design and construction experience. You will take
ownership of civil engineering design, coordinate consultants and contractors,
and deliver practical solutions that balance compliance, cost, programme, and
buildability across hotel, residential, and commercial developments.
Skills & Experience
- A
bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent
relevant qualification. - A
minimum of 5 years' UK experience in civil engineering design and
construction. - Strong
knowledge of underground drainage design, foul and surface water systems,
utilities, and infrastructure. - Experience
managing drainage surveys, condition assessments, and remedial works. - Proficiency
in AutoCAD and relevant civil engineering design software. - Good
understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and statutory
approval processes. - Experience
in hotel, residential, commercial, refurbishment, or building conversion
projects would be advantageous. - Strong
communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with experience
working alongside consultants and contractors.
The Person
You will be a hands-on, solutions-focused engineer with the
technical judgement to assess existing infrastructure, resolve drainage and
construction challenges, and develop practical, commercially sensible
solutions.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially aware, you will
take responsibility for design quality and timely delivery while collaborating
effectively across development, architectural, and construction teams.
If you are an experienced Civil Engineer with strong UK
design and construction experience and the ability to deliver effective
drainage and infrastructure solutions across redevelopment, refurbishment, and
conversion projects, we would welcome your application.
