Job description

Job Advert: Part-Time School Caretaker

Location: Crosby, Merseyside
Pay Rate: £17.50-£18.50 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time School Caretaker to join a school in Crosby. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment.

Working Hours

  • 15 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm-6:00pm.

  • 5 additional hours per week: Flexible, to be arranged around the school's changing needs week by week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs around the school premises.

  • Ensure the school site is safe, secure and well maintained.

  • Complete routine site checks and report any maintenance or health and safety concerns.

  • Assist with the setting up and moving of furniture and equipment as required.

  • Support the opening and closing of the school site, including locking and unlocking facilities where necessary.

  • Maintain the general upkeep of the school grounds and buildings.

  • Respond to any day-to-day caretaking requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience is desirable.

  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to carry out minor repairs.

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

  • Good awareness of health and safety procedures.

  • Flexible and willing to adapt working hours to meet the school's needs.

  • Able to communicate effectively with school staff and other colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
