Care Assistant – Southampton

Salary: £14.30 per hour
Shift pattern: Shifts available 7:15-16:00 Monday-Friday. Term time only.

Superior Healthcare is recruiting a Care Assistant in Lorem Southampton, paying £14.30 an hour, to provide one-to-one, person-centred care.

You’ll support our 5 year old child with her care needs in their own home and at school, combining practical support with trained clinical care and the reassurance that comes from seeing familiar faces.

Job description

As a Care Assistant with Superior Healthcare, you’ll provide dedicated support around an individual care plan.

Care is about much more than completing clinical tasks. You’ll get to know the person you support, understand their routines and preferences and help them maintain as much independence, choice and normality as possible.

Where the care package includes clinical procedures, you’ll complete relevant training and competency assessment before carrying them out independently. You’ll also have access to ongoing clinical guidance and support when needed, so you’re not expected to manage specialist care without the right preparation.

This role can provide a strong pathway for Healthcare assistants and Support Workers looking to build a long-term career in care.

Shifts

Monday-Friday shifts available. 7:15am until 4pm.

Term time only.

Specialist clinical training will be provided where required, with competency assessment and ongoing clinical guidance available when needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, person-centred complex care.
• Follow the individual care plan and agreed clinical guidance.
• Provide personal care respectfully where required.
• Support trained clinical interventions once assessed as competent.
• Promote independence, dignity and personal choice.
• Monitor wellbeing and report changes or concerns promptly.
• Support daily activities, routines and community participation where appropriate.
• Maintain clear and accurate care records.
• Build a consistent and trusted relationship with the person you support.
• Work closely with Superior Healthcare’s wider care and clinical teams.

Requirements

• A compassionate, dependable and person-centred approach.
• Good communication and observation skills.
• Ability to follow detailed care plans and clinical guidance.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Previous care experience requirement: Tracheostomy care and management
• Driving licence/access to transport: Full UK license holder
• Experience as a Children's Complex Care Assistant, Healthcare assistant or Support worker.
• Existing clinical competencies relevant to this package: Tracheostomy care
