BI Analyst

We're looking for a talented BI Analyst to join our Meter Asset Provider Operations team, helping to transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive performance, quality and operational improvement.

About the role

As a BI Analyst, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing business intelligence reporting that supports operational and management decision-making across the business. You'll work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, create impactful Power BI dashboards and provide insight that helps identify trends, risks and opportunities.

You'll also play a key role in ensuring data quality and validation processes remain robust, supporting the integrity of business-critical information and helping to improve efficiency through automation and innovative use of technology.

What you'll be doing

• Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards and data models.
• Produce accurate and insightful management information and operational reporting.
• Analyse data to identify trends, exceptions and performance improvement opportunities.
• Validate incoming data and investigate data quality issues, working with internal stakeholders to resolve concerns.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries to support reporting, analysis and reconciliation activities.
• Automate reporting and validation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective reporting solutions.
• Support the responsible use of AI tools to improve analysis, reporting and development activities.
• Ensure reporting outputs remain accurate, reliable and fit for purpose through testing, validation and continuous improvement.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong MS SQL querying skills.
• Knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
• Experience with data validation, data quality controls and reconciliations.
• Experience automating reporting or analytical processes.
• Excellent investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve anomalies.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative approach and a desire to support operational teams through data-driven decision making.
