Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registration on Part 1 or 12 of NMC Register (RGN or RN Adult)
• Recognised teaching / trainer qualification / course
• Post graduate qualifications related to Dermatology / Oncology

Desirable criteria

• Master’s Degree or working towards
• Advanced Communication Skills training course
• Physical Examination course
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

• Proven track record of specialist practice in dermatology / oncology
• Experience in a managerial position
• Experience of initiating and managing change
• Working within multi-disciplinary groups and establishing effective working relationships in the workplace

Desirable criteria

• Representing organisation/ profession at senior level meetings and committees
• Experience of undertaking training needs analysis for staff groups planning and providing training

Other requirements specific to the role

Essential criteria

• Demonstrate ability to work under pressure

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Developed specialist knowledge of clinical practice underpinned by theory and experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development and leadership of others

Desirable criteria

• Advanced skills in written and verbal communication including public speaking and report writing
• IT skills
