Continental shifts – 7:00am–7:00pm / 7:00pm–7:00am The Role

I'm looking for an experienced Infrastructure Maintenance Operator with a strong electrical background to join my clients engineering team. This is a genuinely hands-on role, suited to someone who enjoys working across a varied environment rather than being based behind a desk. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of plant, equipment and building services, helping to keep critical systems operating safely and efficiently. The role operates on a continental shift pattern, so previous experience working rotating day and night shifts is essential. You will also be required to work outdoors and at height, alongside working within plant rooms and other operational areas. This is therefore a role for someone comfortable working in different environments and tackling practical engineering problems as they arise. What You'll Be Doing

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across plant, machinery and building services.

Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out appropriate repairs, adjustments and remedial works.

Undertake installation, maintenance and modification works as required.

Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance in line with planned maintenance schedules.

Monitor plant and building control systems, identify issues and support effective fault diagnosis.

Assist with the commissioning and decommissioning of plant and equipment.

Work alongside other engineers and operators to complete maintenance activities safely and efficiently.

Support and supervise contractors where required.

Record maintenance activities, plant readings and relevant technical information accurately.

Respond to faults and maintenance requirements while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe and organised.

Follow all health, safety, quality and environmental procedures and report hazards or defects promptly.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is practical, technically confident and comfortable taking ownership of maintenance work. Essential

Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

Proven experience working within a maintenance, engineering or building services environment.

Previous experience working a continental shift pattern, including both day and night shifts.

Hands-on experience in installation and maintenance works.

Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance.

Comfortable working outdoors and at height when required.

Good understanding of safe working practices and health & safety requirements.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of an engineering team.

Desirable

Experience working with HVAC, plant and building services.

18th Edition / BS7671 qualification.

Experience working with building management or building control systems.

Experience working alongside or supervising contractors.

You should be adaptable enough to move between planned maintenance, reactive fault-finding and installation work, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
