I was looking over both the GKN and Morson job recs for the Night Shift Machinist role, and it's missing a lot of the technical context that makes this shop an attractive place to work. I think this could be a contributor to why we aren't getting enough applicants. Right now, it reads like a very generic baseline template. Can we update it to highlight the following to draw in better candidates? The Tech: Explicitly mention that they'll be running multi 4 and 5-axis CNC mills. The Investment: Highlight that we are currently putting high levels of investment into modernising the Filton machine shop. The Day-to-Day: Clarify the actual balance of setting, operating, inspecting, and machine recovery so skilled machinists know exactly what they're applying for. Right now it says everything except for operating machines… Purpose: Setting, operating and inspecting of aircraft components from composite materials, using the latest technology CNC machinery which meets aircraft design drawing requirements. Duties: Running Multi 4 and 5 Axis CNC Mills. Manufacture, machine, measure, test and assemble aircraft components from composite and metallic materials, up to 15m in length, which are fully traceable, using automated machinery.
