Senior IT Engineer (Infrastructure and Security)

Job Description, Work with Core Engineering and Support teams to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure, networking, server, endpoint, and data services. The role supports Head Office, stores, warehouse operations, third-party vendors, and technology projects, with a focus on resolving security gaps, maintaining core systems, and ensuring stable service delivery across 90+ retail stores, 140 users in HO, and a large warehouse team.

• Deliver infrastructure, network, security, and data initiatives aligned to the organisation's technology strategy.
• Administer, maintain, and secure core server, network, cloud, endpoint, backup, storage, and VOIP platforms.
• Implement, troubleshoot, optimise, and harden infrastructure solutions across Head Office, stores, and warehouse environments.
• Support infrastructure projects and deployments, ensuring solutions meet business, ITIL, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Monitor performance, resolve incidents and service requests, and address vulnerabilities to minimise risk and disruption.
• Maintain technical documentation covering infrastructure configurations, controls, and operational procedures.
• Engage vendors and service providers to support operational needs and project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and promote infrastructure and security best practice.

What we are looking for, Requirements

• 6+ years' experience in IT infrastructure, security, and support.
• BTEC HNC/D or equivalent in Computing/IT or related subject preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki and Fortinet network equipment, including switches, access points, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows desktop, and Windows Server environments.
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, endpoint protection, patching, and secure configuration.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, FTP servers, FTP applications, and secure data handling.
• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, detail-focused approach with a track record of improving processes and reducing security risk.
