Rail Infrastructure Project

VGC is recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure project at Bryn Station, Wigan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Site Agent with rail experience to join a high-profile project, leading site operations and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

• Valid PTS and CSCS competency cards
• Previous experience working as a Site Agent within rail infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures
• Experience managing subcontractors, programme delivery, quality, and project reporting
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams

Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager in delivering project objectives
• Act as the key point of contact for TfGM, Network Rail, TOCs, and stakeholders
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification
• Develop and manage 4-week lookahead programmes
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and site activities
• Review and approve RAMS, risk assessments, and work packages
• Produce and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Conduct quality inspections and manage defect resolution
• Monitor project scope and manage change control processes
• Raise and manage Technical Queries (TQs)
• Maintain construction records, assurance documentation, and as-built records
• Support project handover and closeout activities
• Manage environmental risks and ensure compliance with project requirements
