Role: Teacher of History – KS4–KS5 Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire Contract: Full-time, fixed-term for two terms Start Date: January 2027 Salary: Dependent on experience and applicable pay scale A secondary and sixth-form setting in Peterborough is seeking a History Teacher for a two-term appointment beginning in January 2027. The school is looking for a teacher who can develop pupils' historical understanding, strengthen essay-writing skills and prepare older students for more advanced historical study. The Role Teach History at KS4 and KS5, subject to experience and timetable requirements. Deliver lessons that develop knowledge of historical periods, interpretations and debates. Teach source evaluation, evidence selection and structured essay writing. Support examination preparation through regular practice and feedback. Monitor progress and provide academic guidance to students. Work with colleagues to maintain consistent assessment and curriculum standards. The Candidate Holds QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification. Has strong History subject knowledge and confidence teaching older pupils. Can explain complex historical arguments clearly. Demonstrates high expectations and effective classroom organisation.
